Traveling Trunk Educational Program
Since 1978, dedicated docents from the Cupertino Historical Society and Museum have been actively presenting items from the museum to the community via the Traveling Trunk Educational Program.
Cupertino has a rich history - from the Ohlone Indians to the first Spanish encampmnet of Colonel de Anza 1776, to the Mexican era, to the farming era of grapes & fruits, and into the techonlogical era.
The Traveling Trunk Program shares the story of life in Cupertino through memorabilia from horseshoes to high - button shoes - helping students and adults to understand the tremendous changes that have occured in the valley. One of our goals is to help our community develop a deeper appreciation of Cupertino's own unique history and its role in the development of California.
Inspired by Tish Picchetti, the program has been handed down through members of various pioneer families, such as the Pavisos & Regnarts. It continues to be run by other long time residents of Cupertino who wish to preserve the city's history. The original trunk has since been replaced by four roll-on suitcases.
